RM 14 for the spotted & checkered tops :D

I have to blog about one of my new favorite stores in KCH. It’s one of those places that I think isn’t doing too well (probably because of a naming fail =_=), and I’m afraid they will go out of business so I will now blog in attempt to get them more customers so I can keep buying cheap stuff hahaha.

It’s called Shalom Book Corner.

Honestly, that is an awful name failure. It sounds like a Christian book store. Anyway, it’s at Tabuan Jaya next to Healthcare Clinic and some bank and a farmacy thing on the Ibraco block. It sells two of my favorite things…

CLOTHES and BOOKS.

And all very cheap because they’re secondhand!

I sound so poor, “buying the clothes of dead people” (quote, Uncle Jack). But, I save a hell lot of money (especially on books, because I read LOADS and books cost a bomb in Malaysia, don’t they… Ugh) AND help reuse things, therefore saving the environment as well.

Don’t expect everything there to be incredibly steezy (because it isn’t…) but if you’re up for a challenge and search properly, you’ll find real gems. I got that polka dotted top, which I am currently in love with, for 6 bux and the collared button-down shirt for 8 bux, as well as a waistcoat (not shown in picture lol) which cost…

Drumroll please…

3 bux!

And it’s quite chio too, in good condition as well. Sells guy’s clothes as well.

I also bought Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland (been looking for this book since primary school) and Through The Looking Glass for 6.90, The Hobbit for 7.90, Hard Times by Charles Dickens for 5.90, Silence of the Lambs for 8.90, and my BUY OF THE DAY, 2002 Things To Do On A Date, which is a super fun dating handbook (haha don’t ask why I’m buying… =_=) for 5.90.

…DON’T KNOCK THE DATE BOOK, the ideas actually sound awesome fun.

Kuching people, go check it out sometime. I know you overseas people are like “WTH bek” because ya’ll have like 50 million secondhand shops, but whatever, if I was living overseas, I’d probably nest in places like those. SOKONG THE SHOP PLEASE, I WANT TO KEEP ON BUYING BOOKS FOR LESS THAN 10 BUX.
